The Ralph is the UK’s largest independent (non-corporate) multidisciplinary specialist referral centre in southeast England, with around 260 team members. We are looking for a Senior Anaesthetist to join our friendly and collaborative team on a maternity cover contract from December 2026.

The fixed-term contract will last for 12 months. We would prefer a Diplomate, but we also welcome applications from post-residency colleagues. The vacancy is full-time (four days per week), but we are happy to hear from colleagues wishing to work part-time. We are open to discussing different part-time working patterns.

This maternity cover role will help our Anaesthesia and Analgesia team continue to provide their current level of care every day of the year. At the time you join, the Anaesthesia and Analgesia team will consist of two ECVAA Diplomates, one very experienced and one more recent residency-trained clinician, two ECVAA Residents and a large team of anaesthesia/theatre nurses.

You will have access to a full range of dedicated anaesthetic equipment, StimPod TOF monitoring, nerve stimulation and a dedicated ultrasound for locoregional anaesthesia. Our Anaesthesia and Analgesia service works closely with Diplomates in all our disciplines, including Cardiology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. You will also work with our excellent Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation team.
