All new submissions from Sept 2nd (date of Elsevier announcement that VAA is becoming Gold Open Access) until Oct 1st will receive a technical waiver and all be published Open Access without a fee.
Note also:
Manuscripts submitted before Oct 1st and accepted and published in 2025 (i.e. volume 6) will be subscription based (not Open Access by default unless authors select current OA option).
Manuscripts submitted after Oct 1st will not be eligible for a technical waiver i.e. must pay OA fee.
