Location: University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany

Duration: 3-4 years

At the Small Animal Clinic of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation a standard three year residency position in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Perioperative Intensive Care according to European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia requirements will be vacant from 1st January 2024.

Candidates should have enthusiasm for the discipline, an ability to work as part of a dedicated team and have at least one year’s postgraduate experience (formalized 1-year rotating internship or equivalent 2 year practice experience). The successful candidate will work under supervision of anaesthesia specialists (4 ECVAA Diplomates, and 4 ECVAA-resident trained fellows) to provide anaesthesia and analgesia service for varied surgical and diagnostic procedures and will receive core training in all aspects of academic and clinical anaesthesia and pain management plus relevant aspects of peri-operative critical care in both small and large animals. Applicants should hold a degree that is recognised by the EU and have appropriate German or English language qualifications at the time of application. Basic knowledge of German at the beginning of the residency is advantageous, a B2 level is required within 18 months. Salary is based on previous experience (TV-L 14 (75%)).
