Start date: July 2027 | Duration: Three years Bristol Vet Specialists (BVS) is inviting applications for a three-year clinical training post (residency) in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
BVS is a large, specialist-led referral hospital in Bristol, offering a comprehensive range of services including Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. Our purpose-built hospital includes MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, a radiotherapy unit, five theatres, and canine and feline ICUs.
You will join a supportive team of six ECVAA Diplomates, two anaesthesia residents and a large dedicated anaesthesia nursing team. We also work with B&W Equine Hospital and Bristol Zoo to provide the breadth of experience required for ECVAA training.
We are looking for a proactive and professional veterinary surgeon with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to high standards of patient care.
In accordance with ECVAA pre-residency requirements, applicants must have completed a one-year rotating internship or have at least two years' experience in general practice. A specialised anaesthesia internship and/or equine anaesthesia experience is desirable but not essential. Applicants must be eligible for RCVS membership.
Salary & Benefits: Salary circa £47,000 (reviewed annually), 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, RCVS and VDS membership, CPD allowance, contributory pension and additional company benefits.
