ECVAA Standard Residency in Anaesthesia and Analgesia

The National Veterinary School of Toulouse (ENVT) invites applications for a Standard ECVAA 3-year Residency, starting in January 2027.

Oldest higher education institution in Toulouse, ENVT is a leading public institution, internationally recognised for its excellence. Research activities conducted in collaboration with INRAE, INSERM, and the University of Toulouse, provide residents with an outstanding academic environment and opportunities for scientific development. The school maintains international collaborations and exchanges, offering a stimulating, multicultural environment for postgraduate training.

The program is supervised by Dr Caroline Didier, Dip. ECVAA, within the Anaesthesia Department of ENVT VTH (three faculty members, two ECVAA residents, three junior clinicians, one nurse) and favors close collaboration with all clinical services.

Clinical responsibilities include: anaesthetic management of small animals, exotics, equines, ruminants and wildlife; perioperative pain management and critical care; clinical teaching and supervision of undergraduate veterinary students.

Diverse species and procedures performed at ENVT exposes the Resident to a rich spectrum of veterinary anaesthetic management. Externships are an integral component of the program, allowing residents to broaden their clinical experience.

Residents also participate in research activities, scientific meetings, journal clubs and continuing professional development throughout the programme.

Applicants must hold a veterinary degree, be licensed to practice in Europe and have at least completed either a rotating internship or an equivalent postgraduate training. Excellent communication skills are mandatory and experience with academic working is favored.
