The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre is pleased to announce a position for a Resident in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia commencing in 2024 (flexible start date). At the time you join us, our team will consist of:
- Five senior clinicians (three ECVAA diplomates and two residency-trained clinicians); we are recruiting a sixth to start in the Summer of 2024
- One second-year ECVAA resident
- Two full-time and one part-time anaesthesia interns
- A Senior Anaesthesia Nurse and a team of anaesthesia/theatre nurses
The Ralph is the UK’s largest independent (non-corporate) multidisciplinary specialist referral centre in southeast England. Our busy caseload provides fantastic anaesthesia and analgesia cases. Particular strengths of our hospital include:
- A dedicated ICU with an established diplomate-led emergency and critical care team
- A busy cardiology service performing regular interventional cardiac procedures
- A dentistry service undertaking challenging dental cases and maxillofacial surgeries
- A large neurology team performing a range of advanced neurosurgeries
- A busy ophthalmology service requiring regular use of NMBAs
- Busy soft tissue and orthopaedic caseloads, providing extensive locoregional anaesthesia training opportunities
Candidate requirements
- A UK resident or entitled to reside in the UK under UK Immigration Law
- MRCVS by the time of the position's starting date
- As per ECVAA pre-residency requirements, you must have done at least a one-year rotating internship or have at least two years of experience in primary care general practice.
