Part-time or Full-time Senior registered veterinary nurse with a VTS in anaesthesia required – specialist referrals (small animal cardiology).

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per year pro rata.

This is a unique opportunity to join Cheshire Cardiology, a friendly, independent, Specialist-led cardiology referral service in the north of England, due to continued expansion. We are seeking either a part-time or full-time experienced and enthusiastic holder of the VTS (anaesthesia and analgesia) to join us at our new premises in Castle, Cheshire. You will be supported by a RCVS Specialist in veterinary cardiology, a cardiology clinician, three cardiology interns, 3 lovely RVNs, a student nurse, a practice administrator and a receptionist. We are also advertising for a part-time Diplomate of the American or European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

The ideal candidate will have a love of anaesthesia, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery and will hold a passion for teaching. Duties will include assisting with referred cases in cardiology, assisting with imaging and with interventional surgical procedures, triage of emergencies. You will provide a high standard of nursing support to animals and the clients associated with them, maintain a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation within the hospital. Assist in the teaching of visiting veterinary undergraduates and student veterinary nurses. There is an inpatient care only shared roster although the majority will be covered by veterinary interns. Referral nursing experience is desirable. Our head nurse would like support therefore management experience is a bonus although not essential.
