The Small Animal Clinic of the Animal Hospital Freie Universität Berlin is one of five university clinics for small animals and pets in Germany and acts as the central university contact for veterinary-clinical services in the field of small animal and pet medicine in the Berlin-Brandenburg region with its more than 6 million inhabitants. In addition to our comprehensive teaching and research activities, we focus on the medical care of all types of small pets and small wild animals. As a clinic, we offer a 24-hour emergency service 7 days a week and are looking for active support.
A wide range of applications and the unique environment in Berlin ensure an interesting and diverse field of activity in teaching, research and service.
Job description
- Organizing and providing veterinary care for outpatients, inpatients and surgical patients in the field of anaesthesia and pain management.
- Independent teaching in accordance with the German Teaching Obligations Ordinance (LVVO) in the field of small animal and pet anesthesia, including lectures, propaedeutics, clinical rotations, emergency courses, and elective duties.
- Professional involvement in the training of residents and veterinary specialists in various disciplines.
- Research in the field of small animal anesthesia.
Requirements
Specialist veterinarian of Anaesthesia and Analgesia or Diplomate of the European / American College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA/ACVAA); doctorate in veterinary medicine; veterinary license to practice medicine as well as at least three years of experience in veterinary anaesthesia (full-time employment) after the completion of the university degree.
