Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral practice in Ringwood in the South of England. We are seeking an ECVAA or ACVAA board certified or board eligible locum for July and August 2023. You will work with 2 ECVAA Diplomates, 2 Residency trained clinicians, 5 ECVAA Residents, 3 anaesthesia interns and a team of 7 anaesthetic nurses. SCVS has opened a £10 million surgical facility with 5 state-of-the-art theatres, large prep room, a new client area and consulting rooms. We have access to modern anaesthetic equipment, including liquid oxygen, GE digital ventilators, practice wide multiparameter monitoring and infusion equipment, a dedicated US machine for locoregional anaesthesia, and internal and external (on site) laboratory equipment. We provide an anaesthesia service - Surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedics), Neurology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Radiology for a variety of challenging cases, including interventional cardiology and airway procedures, and intracranial and intrathoracic surgery.

The candidate must be eligible to register with, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. You will work 4 days each week, have primary case responsibility, and provide supervision for residents, interns and anaesthetic nurses, and participate in a shared out of hours emergency anaesthesia service.
