Full-time anaesthetist position in the field of anesthesiology, attached to the Equine Clinical Department
Job description
- Management of patients under general anesthesia and sedation
- Local anesthesia and analgesia
- Care of hospitalized patients
- On-call role, providing first aid in all disciplines
- Clinical teaching of veterinary students and interns
- Scientific research leading to a Doctor of Veterinary Science (PhD) degree
- Enrollment in a veterinary anesthesiology residency (ECVAA)
Required qualifications
- Degree in veterinary medicine
- Solid clinical experience in general medicine and equine anesthesiology
- Have the right to practice veterinary medicine in Europe
- Be registered or eligible for registration with the Belgian Ordre of Veterinarians
- Good knowledge in written and spoken French

Clinical and teaching skills
- Motivated to invest in the running of the clinical service
- Motivated to engage in teaching veterinary students
- Combine clinical skills with the ability to transmit these skills to students
Scientific skills
- Ability to design and carry out research projects, with a rigorous methodological approach
- Mastery of experimental techniques and statistical data analysis
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate results and put them into perspective
- Scientific writing skills to publish results in specialized journals
