Clinician
Location: University of Montreal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada
Duration: 1-2 years (renewable)
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal is seeking a Clinical Instructor in Anesthesiology and Pain management for a 1 or 2-year position (renewable), starting next fall/winter.
This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic academic hospital environment, alongside specialists in anesthesiology, cardiology, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, medical imaging, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, theriogenology, emergency, and critical care.
You’ll play a key role in clinical service and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical teaching and anesthesia services, including on-call duties
- Supervise and evaluate veterinary residents, interns and students
- Manage a diverse caseload, including companion animals, equines, farm animals, and zoological species (active collaborations with the local zoo and aquarium), handling a variety of challenging and rewarding anesthesia cases
- Contribute to institutional, research, and outreach activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A team player with passion for teaching and collaboration
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Completed residency in anesthesiology (ACVAA or ECVAA)
- Board certification (ACVAA or ECVAA) and a PhD or MSc in anesthesiology or analgesia are considered assets
- Speaking French is an advantage but not required.
