The European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) is the central authority regulating and certifying the standards of Specialisation in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Members of ECVAA are called Diplomates and may use the post-nominal DipECVAA.

The ECVAA is a recognised College of the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS).  Certified European specialists in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia are entitled to use the title: EBVSTM European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

Specialist veterinary anaesthetists play a key role in anaesthesia and pain management in all animal species and bring a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology to the practice of anaesthesia.

Veterinary anaesthesia specialists collaborate closely with colleagues in other disciplines, such as surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and critical care.

The current list of Diplomates and the countries in which they practice may be found via the EBVS website: here.
